Russell Adams (deceased) - This is taken from Mr. Adam's obituary (Bristol Herald Courier) Mr. Russell Adams passed away on September 1, 2009. He was a native of Konnarock, Virginia; but had lived in Washington, DC and Maryville. Tennessee. He came to the Smyth County Jam and displayed his talent a number of times with his very realistic imitation of a train whistle. Russell Adams was a brother to our beloved Henry Adams. He was a veteran of Korea and a retired employee of American Airlines with thirty years service. Russell Adams has two sons. Shortly after his demise, his wife, Vivian, passed away also. Mr. Adams was a member of Whitetop Rescue Squad and a devoted member of Konnarock Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served as head elder of that church. He was also very active in community affairs in Konnarock.
