Kate Parks - The Smyth County Jam welcomes Kate Parks who has been in Abingdon, Virginia for nine years. Kate is from Loudoun County, Virginia, which is not far from Washington, DC. She is retired, but works with an animal welfare group. She is a very talented singer and says she is learning to play fiddle. Kate states that she plays piano "pitifully!" She is married with no children, but has two cats and a dog to look after. We hope she will see fit to return to the Smyth County Jam any time she is able. She says she admires Nanci Griffith a Nashville-based singer.
